The Coy Deer

The coy deer are the most valuable – the ones whose heads are lowered to their left sides. Second are the deer whose noses are pointed upwards as if they are reaching for leaves. You won’t struggle to find what are referred to in the catalogues as the ‘supermodels’, the front-facing deer.

I keep mine in the fireplace. I’ve got hundreds – a mix of the coy deer and the deer whose noses are pointed upwards. I have no front-facing deer. Mine are all jade but I’ve encountered pale-blue and yellow and once a bronze cast.
